Who we are

Songambele is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) in Tanzania, operating under the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, the Elderly, and Children, with registration number ooNGO/00010039. This grassroots community-based organization operates in Kilimanjaro, Arusha, Manyara, and Tanga. It was founded and is run by women with disabilities who have faced discrimination, regardless of their race, culture, religion, or social status. The stigma attached to disability significantly affects access to health services, education, and employment for women and girls with disabilities, influencing how they are treated by their communities and social groups, including the church.

Our Mission
To promote and encourage good health, education, well-being, and social inclusion for women, girls, and children with disabilities in Tanzania.

As a Non-Governmental Organization, Songambele Initiative relies exclusively on donations from individuals and corporate entities like yours. Your support enables us to provide essential therapeutic interventions and social support in Tanzania.
We accept donations of funds, training materials, books, and data processing equipment, all of which directly aid our mission to improve the lives of vulnerable Tanzanians through professional placements and skill development in therapy services.
