We promote appropriate assistive devices that are well-designed and fitted not only to enhance
mobility, but also to open a world of education, work, and social life for those in need of such
support. Many people with spinal cord injuries are discharged from the hospital without a
wheelchair. This is a death sentence for these people, who will go on to suffer from further
health issues.
We are working hard to ensure that people with disabilities have access to appropriate
wheelchairs that meet WHO guidelines. The use of a properly fitting wheelchair facilitates
greater mobility and freedom, thereby increasing self-esteem and confidence, as well as
enabling access to education, health services, and employment, resulting in overall
improvement in quality of life.
